Basil Hansen
Basil William Hansen, 89, of Hilo and formerly of Kauai, died June 25, 2018, at home. Born in Waipahu, Oahu, he worked as a field supervisor for the former Ewa and Lihue Sugar Plantations, was a retired captain for the Hawaii Air National Guard, drug and alcohol abuse counselor for Adventist Health System, amateur archeologist and an avid outdoorsman.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. July 13 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5:30 p.m. service. Inurnment at a later date. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
He is survived by wife, Rosebelle Hansen of Hilo; children, Jan Haunani (Luke) Mullins of California, Hans William Hansen of Waimanalo, Oahu, Erin Kathleen Hansen of Koloa, Kauai; step-children, Boyd (Ed Lilley) Murayama of Prescott, Ariz., Miles Murayama of Kerrville, Texas, Shanlynn (Randy) Seto of Waimea, Kauai, Conrad K.D. (Coralynn) Murayama of Omao, Kauai, Calvin M.K. Murayama of Hilo; and numerous cousins.

Trexel Beer
Trexel Lynn Beer, 74, of Hilo, died May 25, 2018, at Hawaii Care Choices (formerly Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility).
Born in Buckhannon, West Virginia, he was a retired State of Hawaii Department of Public Safety – Hawaii Intake Service Center Branch Manager, employed at G. and G., Inc. of Oahu, member of Hilo United Methodist Church, Camp Mekokiko Development Team, Hilo United Methodist Men’s Group, Hilo United Methodist Church – Peanut Butter Ministry, Hawaii Government Employees Association (HGEA) Unit 13 Retirees, East Hawaii Kiwanis Club, Hilo Jaycees Roosters, Kuulei Subdivision Kumiai and was a veteran with the U.S Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Friends may call 9-10:30 a.m. July 14 at Dodo Mortuary chapel; celebration of life at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Inurnment at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 will take place at a later date.
He is survived by wife, Linda Hyung Yik Beer of Hilo; daughter, Judy Junko Beer of Hilo; sister, Delma (William) McKinney of Victoria Minnesota; brothers, Roger Beer and Dannie (Brenda) Beer of Clarksburg, all of West Virginia; in-laws; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins.

Viliami Livai
Viliami Teniosi Livai, 42, of Pepeekeo and formerly of Kahuku, died on June 24, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born July 15, 1975, in Eua, Tonga.
Visitation will be held from 9-10:45 a.m. on July 14 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Honomu Branch; service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Alae Cemetery, Mormon Section. Casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Anaise Livai of Pepeekeo; children, Petilisa Tilini-Livai, Eseta Livai and Lasipeli Livai, all of Pepeekeo, Kaliopasi Livai of Utah, Tilini Livai of California, and Tofa Livai-Sanft of Texas; brother, Siuaki (Fusi Kaunanga) Livai of Kahuku, Oahu; sisters, Henelieta (Malave Lui) Sanft of Texas, Melelini (Rev. Joseph Steven Lorenz Jr., 56, of Hilo died Aug. 10, 2018, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was the owner of the former Aloha Lawn &Landscaping and was a commercial fisherman.
A celebration of his life will take place at 11:30 a.m. July 14 at Onekahaha Beach Park Pavilion Nos. 6 and 7. Casual attire.
He is survived by daughter, Jonee (Rachel Deliz) Carvalho of San Francisco; son, Joseph Lorenz III of Pearl City, Oahu; hanai son, Esdakio (Michelle) Semens of Waipahu, Oahu; brother, Victor (Remona) David Lorenz of Hilo; sisters, Steveanna (William) Sykes of New Hampshire, Joven (Charles) Russell of Sacramento, California, andTammy Sanchez of Hilo; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Serafin De Los Santos Jr.
Serafin Hernandez De Los Santos Jr., 74, of Keaau died June 18, 2018 at his residence. Born Dec. 5, 1943, in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a self employed taxi services company and security personnel in Hawaii.
An urn committal service will be held at 1 p.m. July 14 at the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery. Family requests casual attire; flowers and lei are welcomed.
He is survived by son, Noel De Los Santos of California; daughter, Gloria De Los Santos of California; brother, John De Los Santos of New Jersey; brothers in-law, Luciano Dela Cruz of Ewa Beach, Oahu and Matt Davis of Keaau; sisters in-law, Remy Young of Keaau, Percy (Libby R.) Evelyn Opea Stenback, 65, of Honaunau, died July 3, 2018, at home. She was born in Hilo and was a homemaker.
